Super Easy Pizza Crust Dough

This homemade pizza crust is so easy, you'll wonder why you ever bought frozen.

We didn’t adjust our pizza dough recipe one lick for the waffle iron — it’s perfect in the oven, and it’s perfect waffled. Use this super easy recipe to make calzone-like waffle pizzas, breadsticks, garlic knots, and more.

While we love it in the waffle maker, we won’t be offended if you just roll it out and throw it in the oven for a more standard pizza.

Easy Pizza Dough

This quick and easy pizza crust recipe turns out perfect every time.

  • 21/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  1. Add the yeast in the warm water (not hot) and let rest for a few minutes while the yeast dissolves.

  2. In a large bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of flour, salt, and sugar.

  3. When yeast is dissolved, add to flour mixture.

  4. Add olive oil and mix.

  5. Add the rest of the flour, slowly, and mix until you get a shaggy dough.

  6. Form dough into a ball and let it rest in the bowl, covered with a dish towel, for about ten minutes. Dough should be firm and smooth at this point.

  7. After about 10 minutes, roll out your dough to desired size.

  8. If you are making pizza waffles, proceed with the pizza waffle instructions here

  9. If you are making a standard pizza, place your rolled-out dough on a sprayed and dusted pizza pan or cookie sheet and place in a 425 degree oven for 10 minutes.

  10. Add your toppings, and return to the oven for another 10-15 minutes.
